Greenie Eats a Butterfly - Rob Falk Photography

The White Snake Reviews

The White Snake is in its final weekend of performances, and both children and critics alike have been enchanted by its myth and magic. One reviewer even goes so far as to say she left the theatre “feeling like [she] had been born again.” Don’t miss your final opportunity to catch this dazzling production!

“Yena Han’s character of Greenie stole the show every time she was onstage. She was funny and cunning, the perfect best friend and sidekick who saves the day whenever necessary, landing her jokes with every beat, and supporting Lady Bai and Xu Xian until the very end.” -KXSU

“Alternately funny and pugnacious (sometimes both), her facial expressions and comic timing alone are worth the price of admission, holding the fuzzy fairy-tale logic of the plot together.” -The Seattle Times

The White Snake

The White Snake

The White Snake by Mary Zimmerman is making its Seattle debut at 12th Avenue Arts! After a wildly successful run at Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Old Globe, ReAct Theatre is excited to bring this gorgeous Chinese fairytale to the Pacific Northwest. Directed by David Hsieh, this show features an all-Asian cast for the first time in the history of this production.

Yena will be playing Green Snake, White Snake’s sassy companion who attempts to disguise their true identities as snakes who transform into women. The show is kid-friendly, but adults will also recognize more mature themes, such as Eastern philosophy and the challenge of revealing one’s true self in a relationship. Tickets are available online, with discounts for theatre artists as well as students and seniors.

Currently, Yena is coaching scenes from The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde in Acting II, an intermediate scene study class.

Located in Kirkland, WA, Studio East is the number one performing arts program on the Eastside. If your child is interested in taking classes or auditioning for shows, you can find more information at their main website, or message Yena for updates about her classes and one-on-one coaching opportunities.
